Sunday Morning Worship at The River
This Sunday Morning: The Prodigal God: "The
Younger Brother" In the third week of our
Prodigal God series, well talk about younger brother
types and their mistaken notion that unbridled self
discovery is the way to happiness. Through the
parable, well discover what real repentance looks
like
and how Jesus is calling us to a lifestyle of
repentance. Well also hear from our Zambian
trippers
as they share what God did in them and through them
on their recent trip to Zambia. See you Sunday!

the wonderful things about giving to our Opening New

Advice to weather a tough economy
According to Gail Vaz-Oxlade (personal finance guru -
www.gailvazoxlade.com) good money management
comes down to four basic rules: 1. Don't spend more
than you make. 2. Save money regularly. 3. Pay off
your debt - now! 4. Mitigate your risks with tools such
as insurance and an emergency fund. This basic
advice is especially relevant during the current
recession. She says "More than ever before, follow
the four basics. The more money you have in the
bank, the better able you will be to cope with whatever
happens." She sees more pain ahead in the form of
higher unemployment and rising costs. "When the
economy turns around, that's the time to build up a
storehouse of money. Rebuild your emergency fund
and your long-term savings, and pay down your debt."
In the end, Vaz-Oxlade says, much of money
management is old-fashioned common
sense. "Money isn't rocket science - its discipline. It's
simple - but it isn't easy."
