This Sunday @ The River

Sunday Morning Worship at The River

New Series!----Dan(iel) in Real LIfe: "The Deep Things of God" King Nebuchadnezzar had a problem. He has lots of wise men, but no real wisdom. What he needed was revelation-a word from God as to the meaning and direction of his life. God used Daniel to provide just such a word and in the end it brought the king of Babylon to his knees before the power of living God. Similarly, we live in an age glutted with information, yet grievously lacking wisdom. What we need is a word from the Lord. What we need is revelation as to the meaning and direction of life. Come Sunday to find out more!

The River currently meets at Lillian Osborne High School, 1019 Leger Road, in Riverbend/Terwillegar, Edmonton, Alberta. Our service is now held at 10:30 AM in the morning. Children's ministry programs and nursery are provided. Come early for bagels and coffee.

Backyard Safety

~ LOOK FIRST! Most injuries are not accidents - they are predictable and preventable. ~

Preventing dehydration and sunburn Too much sun exposure, especially to children, can be harmful. The sun's burning rays can cause sunburn, skin cancer and eye damage. Follow these sun safety tips: * Limit sun exposure during the hours of 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., when the sun's rays are the strongest. * Apply a broad spectrum sunscreen to children at least 20 minutes before they go out into the sun and reapply regularly and after swimming or sweating. Use sunscreen with a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of 15 or higher, even when it is cloudy. Note: Sunscreen should not be used on children under 6 months of age. * Have children stay in the shade, out of the hot sun as much as possible. * Dress children in light-coloured clothing to keep them cool. * Have them wear hats and UVA/UVB protective sunglasses to protect their faces and eyes. * Serve water often. Kids often get too busy playing to ask for a drink. Having them sip a beverage regularly will help prevent dehydration.
