Monday Musings

A few quick hitters on this Easter Monday:

  • What a terrific service yesterday! It was a wonderful celebration of Jesus’ triumph. A huge thank you goes out to all our musician, singers, choir members, hospitality folk, greeters, AV people, children’s ministry folks, and anyone else I might be missing. In case you missed the service, it’s available (on video) on The River’s Facebook site in its entirety.

  • Another huge thank you to everyone who helped with Kevin Lehman’s funeral last week. So many of you stepped up to provide food service, set-up, worship and other supports. Kelly sent me a note to say how profoundly grateful she was. I love how, as a church community, we really band together in times like this. It shows a lot of love.

  • Reminder: New Member’s class this Sunday morning at 9 AM. If you haven’t taken yet, now is the time!

  • REVIVE is next Sunday night at 7 PM at MosaicHouse East. Come for a night of worship and celebration! You won’t regret it.

  • Don’t miss next Sunday morning worship service as we’re doing the latest installment of “God in the Movies”. We’re doing “The Greatest Showman”, which is a real fan favorite. There will be some great music and other surprises.

  • Our new message series “Faith and Doubt” is starting on May 5th. This is an incredible opportunity to invite some of your skeptical friends, neighbours or co-workers to church. Be brave and INVITE!

  • A note from Executive: We need everyone at The River to step up financially and continue to support the wide variety of ministries at The River. It’s so important as we are behind in relation to our budget this year. Consider what you can do.
