If, as I said on Sunday, the fact that we’re ALL spiritual blind precludes “getting spiritually uppity”; that is, judging others who don’t see what we see spiritually, why are church people famous for such behavior? On the positive side of the equation, who is someone you admire for their gentleness, patience and love for spiritually blind or near-sighted people?
3. Why was Peter’s confession that Jesus is the Christ so astounding? What are its implications? What does it mean for your life?
4. Read Mark 8: 27-30. After Peter’s declaration, verse 30 says, “Jesus warned them not to tell anyone about him?” Why do you suppose he did this?
5. On Sunday, I talked about receiving a second touch from Jesus; in truth, the importance of returning to Jesus WHENEVER we need a touch from him. What are some areas of your life in which you need a second touch? If you’re in a group, do some sharing and praying for each other.
