Monday Morning Musings
I was so grateful for the men’s retreat this weekend. First, nobody got killed or even severely injured throwing axes, so that’s a win all by itself! But, then secondly, God was at work. There was a great community spirit with lots of jokes flying around and guys having friendship building conversations. We also enjoyed inspiring worship, a good speaker who pushed us (in a good way) spiritually and had some great food and fellowship. AND, all of this took place in beautiful Jasper where we got to enjoy God’s glorious creation. One group of guys even climbed to the top of a mountain, some 550 floors UP by the end of the day! Thank you, Lord, for spoiling us this weekend. BTW, for all you guys who didn't/couldn't go, the Men's Leadership Team is planning a men's event in September (it's going to be AMAZING) and then follow-up monthly breakfast meetings starting in October.
Just a reminder. This Sunday is our “Town Hall” meeting in which the Pastor Search Team will reveal the results of the survey that went out a few weeks back and have a discussion as to how the search process for a new Lead Pastor is going to unfold. So, IT’S REALLY IMPORTANT that you’re in church this Sunday morning so that we can hear your voice. We will intentionally be shortening the morning worship service in order to have the time we’ll need to talk. Just so you know, I will be leaving right after the morning worship service in order to give The River the room it needs to talk about whatever it needs to talk about.
BTW, if you want to get baptized or make profession of faith on June 23rd, then please attend the class that I’m leading this Sunday morning at 9 AM. E-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you want some more info.
