Monday Morning Musings--November 4th, 2019

A few quick hitters this morning:

  • It appears that the registration link for the Men’s Breakfast on November 16th (that I sent out on Friday with Currents) isn’t working. CLICK HERE for a link that works. Gals, please encourage your guys to sign up and attend!

  • I must publicly apologize to Martin Rosene this morning. He sent me a slide with some important information on it last Tuesday regarding our brand new boys ministry meeting this Wednesday night at 6:30 PM including a new name, costs, what to bring, etc. With all the things going on yesterday (i.e. the “Christmas With Style” sign up), it got missed. So, CLICK HERE to view the info. Once again, sorry Martin.

  • We had a great Newcomer’s Lunch yesterday. It anticipates our next New Members course which starts this Sunday morning at 9 AM. If you haven’t yet joined The River, please consider taking the course. It enables you to vote at congregational meetings, serve on our Executive and a bunch of other important things. It’s only a 2-week course, so SEE YOU THERE!

  • Hey, we are decorating for Christmas on Wednesday morning November 13th starting at 9:30 AM. The River’s women’s ministry is going to take the lead, but we NEED some guys to show up as well (for the heavy lifting!). So, if you’re available, we’d love to have you. Lunch will be provided.

  • We had a good sign up yesterday for “Christmas With Style”, but we still need more volunteers. We especially need personal shopper attendants from 3-5 PM (which was our busiest shift last year). So, if you can step up, or even find a few friends that might be interested in helping out, we’d love that! We WILL provide you with another opportunity to sign up next Sunday morning. However, you can sign up any time by e-mailing Mel at

  • We have several Riverites struggling with cancer right now. Please keep Jan Laarman in prayer as he is currently going through treatments. As well, please pray for Jasmine Ramsay as she anticipates surgery in the near future. YOUR PRAYERS MATTER!
