Monday Musings

What a wonderful men’s retreat. Great worship, good talks, lots of laughter, delicious food, great weather and loads of fun. One of the guys also gave his heart and life to Jesus for the first time. Who could ask for anything more? Nathan, Derrick and Byron did a terrific job. We’ll post some pics on The River’s Facebook site this week for everyone to enjoy. May all the guys who attended take to heart the spiritual challenges placed before them and GROW in GRACE! We’re already looking forward to next year’s retreat.

Sharon and Janessa are flying back from Europe today. I’m so excited to see them again. Two weeks is a long time. By all accounts, they had a terrific time. But, by the sounds of it, they are ready to sleep in their own beds again. I can’t wait to see all of their pictures and hear their stories. Pray for travelling mercies.

For those of you who missed it, next Sunday is a big Sunday. After church, we’re having a quick, but important congregation meeting on the future of our youth and young adult ministry at The River. It’s all about making sure that we do everything we can to help those ministries thrive. There will also be an opportunity to have any questions you have about The River answered. After the meeting, we’ll enjoy First Sunday Fellowship with the theme being SALADS. Hmmmmm salads. We’re going to try something new and have a kid’s hot dog station available as we know that most kids love hotdogs and are able to help themselves (which takes some pressure of parents). Give us your feedback.
