One of the things I was thankful for this weekend is the Blue Jays beating the Texas Rangers to advance to the American League Championship series starting this Friday against the Cleveland Indians. I know, I know, some of you could care less. But, there’s something about baseball that no other sport can match: the tension, the frustration, the heroics, the thrill, etc. What depressed me this holiday weekend was the American Presidential debates and the pure debacle that is American politics these days. Where are the men and women of good character in this culture? Where are the great statesmen and women of our age? Sad.
The women’s retreat starts this Friday. Around thirty-five women will head out to Camp Nakamun to be blessed by spending time together, worshipping, eating, learning and laughing. My sister Michelle is going to speak. She’s a wonderful speaker so I know our gals will be ministered to. Thanks so much to Marilyn Schulz, Michelle Wuerch and my wife Sharon for organising this year’s event. BTW….MEN this is not an excuse to skip church next Sunday morning's worship service....SMILE.
