My greatest take away from last night wasn’t informational, but personal. Don’t get me wrong, I learned a lot. It was so good to hear an update from one of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission commissioners as to how we’re responding to their “calls to action”. Chief Littlechild was so articulate and gentle in challenging us last night. I said to someone afterwards, “How many times was he flying down to the UN thinking, ‘I’m wasting my time’, but he persevered. And God has blessed his work so wonderfully.” Anyway, on to the personal stuff. Yesterday, I found out that my daughter Hillary was grand niece to Chief Littlechild. I said to her later that night, “Hey, does this mean you are royalty?” She smiled. Ok, I also hope this doesn't mean she'll get a big head. Parenting a teenager is hard enough.
Can I give a little plug for “The Wellness Project”? We’re doing a great course called, “Stop Sabotoging Your Weight Loss and Body Image” on Thursday, November 10th at 7 PM at South Pointe. I know this is an issue for people because it’s an issue for me. Maybe, I will see you there.
